PINPOSTM Docking / Charging
There are three docking / charging options available for PINPOSTM (PINPOS):
- PINPOS Dock
PINPOS Dock is a base unit for the PINPOS which includes functions such as charging, printing, scanning and securing the PINPOS, it even has an independent processor enabling it to function without the PINPOS present. - Multi-way Charger options
For large numbers of PINPOS devices, multi-way charger options are available to suit customer specifications. - Single Charger / USB Cradle
Single PINPOS charging station with a USB connection, so data can be transferred from the docked PINPOS to a PC whilst the PINPOS is being recharged.

Originally developed for inflight services and duty free sales, BOM's feature rich mobile point-of-sale solution is now available to the general market.

The PINPOS Dock hardware provides the following robust 'best of breed' components:
- Barcode Reader (non-laser)
- Clamshell Printer (easy paper-load) Zebra Cameo2
- Locking Mechanism
PINPOS Dock offers a lock mechanism so that when the PINPOS is docked it can be locked and only unlocked through a software activated code. - Removable Pod unit
A single unit that combines memory and a battery, enabling all components to be powered and charged via one high power battery unit. Memory with the Pod means that data can be transferred via USB while the Pod is charging. - Independent Processor
The independent processor inside PINPOS Dock gives the unit independence from the PINPOS. The processor is in fact a PDA on a board and can create an independent wireless network between multiple units and enable a master / slave system to be used if appropriate.
Benefits
There are many benefits to using the PINPOS Dock solution, these include:
- Safety
The PINPOS Dock includes a mounting for a CCD Barcode Reader. CCD scanners are safe, there is no need to worry about shining it in people's eyes; to further reduce this risk the CCD Barcode Reader points upwards rather than out of the side. - Simpler logistics
- Only one small and light weight Pod needs to be removed from the unit to charge and power all components as well as transfer any data via USB.
- Single large long-life battery, which is used to power the printer and re-charge the PINPOS device.
- PINPOS is charged while docked
- PDAs can be issued to staff if organisation wishes.
- Printer is fast and quiet with an easy way to change paper.
- Operating flexibility
- Hands-free operation.
Enabling the easy handling of products, for example when the user needs to scan a barcode. - Sharing a docking station between many crew members. Many crew members can use separate PINPOS devices and then share a single docking station.
- PINPOS Dock can be operated from any flat surface.
- Hands-free operation.
Multi-way Charger Options
For large numbers of PINPOS devices, multi-way charger options are available to suit customer specifications. For example, if you have the PINPOS Dock solution we can supply the eight-gang battery charger:
Single Charger / USB Cradle
The single PINPOS charging station has a USB connection, enabling the transfer of data from the docked PINPOS to a PC whilst the PINPOS is being recharged:
