Monarch Airlines replace their existing onboard technology with PINPOS hardware

The Clue® Trader group refer to the PINPOS TeamPad as the "SkyPad Plus".
Monarch Airlines decided to replace their existing onboard technology with Clue® Trader's innovative Inflight Sales Management system. Monarch Airlines implemented SkyTrader, running on SkyPad Plus units, together with GroundTrader in May 2005.
Monarch Airlines currently have an estate of over 260 SkyPad Plus units, which they use to facilitate sales on approximately 16,000 round trip flights to over 70 destinations per year.
Monarch Airlines use GroundTrader to carry out a number of back office functions. For example, the system is used by the marketing department for planning products and promotions, and also the catering and bar operations departments dealing with the bar planning and bonded stores. The Cashiers department is a heavy user, as staff deal with cash, currency, credit cards, bar control and invoice reconciliation. GroundTrader has been developed to interface with Monarch's flight planning, crewing, payroll and credit card clearing systems.
In addition, Monarch Airlines have just restructured their crew commissions policy. Consequently, GroundTrader has been modified to deal with the new complexities it brings and the results are automatically run through the interface to Monarch's payroll for commission purposes.
Monarch Airlines use CF cards to transfer the flight data between the bond and the aircraft.
