Queue busting scenario
Sarah is the Store Manager of a busy fashion retail outlet and has recently invested in the PINPOSTM (PINPOS) mobile sales solution for use around the store, and in particular around the changing rooms at busy periods. Sarah had noticed that she was losing significant business due to lengthy queues at the checkout - customers would try clothes on and like them, but would abandon the purchase if the checkout queue was too long.
| 9:00am | The store opens and Sarah logs onto her PINPOS mobile device, which downloads all of the store's product files in preparation for selling during the day. |
|---|---|
| 11:00am | The store is getting busy, and Sarah notices that the queues at the checkout are beginning to get quite long. Sarah arms one of her Sales Assistants with a PINPOS mobile device, and bases her outside the changing rooms. As customers leave the changing rooms, the Sales Assistant is able to offer them the ability to pay for the goods immediately, instead of sending them in the direction of the busy checkout. |
| 2:00pm | The store has now been very busy for a number of hours, and there are some product lines and sizes that have sold out on the shop floor. However, with the use of the PINPOS mobile device, Sarah is able to query the stock levels in the stock room and make more of the relevant stock available very quickly. |
| 3:30pm | Trade is now beginning to slow down, so Sarah decides to re-assign her Sales Assistants to other tasks. The PINPOS mobile devices are docked so that they are fully charged ready for trading the next day. |
| 17:00pm | It's getting towards the end of the day and Sarah checks how sales for the day have progressed, by using the PINPOS device to link seamlessly with the store's back office system. She is able to retrieve and analyse sales data for every checkout (standard or mobile) from the store's back office system. |
